Care, Connect, Serve, Build
Our training and volunteering opportunities are designed to empower anyone – with as much or as little experience or education – to engage in the nations. YWAM Townsville is about harnessing each person’s faith, along with their unique passions and giftings, and matching that with a vision to see positive, lasting change in Australia, Papua New Guinea and beyond.
Training That Takes You Places
Come be a part of changing nations with us – A YWAM Discipleship Training School will equip you to put your faith into action, to have meaningful impact while bringing purpose and hope to people in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and beyond. Come for 6 months for an amazing missions experience, engage in a DTS Plus for a chance to hone your skills and passions for Christian Ministry Development, or complete a Diploma in Christian Missions Leadership on the DTS Max.
In September 2015, YWAM Townsville is hosting YWAM’s biennial global gathering. Hundreds of YWAM staff will be traveling from all over the world to convene and converge on strategies to impact the nations.
"This DTS has helped me learn to be with God and live alongside Him in every moment! This experience has made me so excited for my future and dreams with Him!"
"I started a new journey with God since coming here. I’ve had challenges in my life, DTS has taught me that I have a God given power, to overcome those challenges. I have discovered my voice and new talents that I can use to serve others."
"The DTS was life changing. I came to YWAM thinking I had my life figured out. This couldn’t be far from the truth. YWAM does a really good job at teaching on topics that youth face in life. On outreach, you will grow so much and God will do amazing things if you let Him. This experience has been the best thing I have ever done."
"DTS has shone a new light in my life and has given me a profound passion and excitement for my future and what it holds."
"The IPHC was an incredible time where I got to learn how to be an effective health care worker in any developing nation. I got to learn from an incredible group of people, including doctors, midwives, nurses and more. Going to PNG and applying everything I learned in the classroom was an incredible privilege."
"I've always dreamed of being a medical missionary ever since I was a little girl and doing the IPHC made that possible. I never thought that at 21 years old I'd be setting up clinics in completely isolated villages in PNG. I am so thankful for the adventure that this school has been."
"Doing the IPHC was a great experience for me. I gained so many valuable skills and had a blast using them practically all over PNG. I would recommend it to anyone."
"The IPHC equipped me with the necessary skills to serve a developing nation, both physically and spiritually. The world has far too many isolated and forgotten people. The IPHC gave me the skills to bring hope and healing to those who feel hopeless. It was an incredible experience."
